This project is the handiwork of a group of people in love with poetry and art in general.
In a meeting of friends, the idea of reading poetry in a new dimension was raised, filling the streets of our town, fusing word and image, writing and visual representation.
To be able to do this, we needed artists who altruistically wanted to share their peculiar vision of a poetry fragment that had previously been chosen.
Then we would have to find the right wall and ask permission from the owner to realise the painting.
The Xaló City Council paid for the painting materials, as well as the cost of preparing those walls that required the hand of a qualified plasterer.
Slowly this seed has grown and now it has its own name: “PAINT ME A POEM”. A local project, made with the collaboration of the residents of the town and its surroundings, which has created joy, beauty and solidarity, and in some way reaches the pedestrians, following a poetic journey through the streets of Xaló.
